A Year as an Auxiliar de Conversación in Castilla y León, Spain

Photos by Jen Schaller

What does a year as an Auxiliar de Conversación in Castilla y León look like? An image is worth a thousand words, or so they say. In this photogallery, we will get to know Castilla y León as well as our auxiliar, Jen Schaller.

Castilla y León is Spain’s biggest community with so many cities and towns to explore. Each of these places feel like a dream. Because of its size, it borders so many other regions and communities in Spain that are worth a visit. If you do not believe us, just look at the pictures!

We all need some fresh air and to be surrounded by nature. In Castilla y León, you do not have to choose. You can spend the morning in a new city and the afternoon relaxing at a park surrounded by water!

Besides visiting places, living abroad gives you the opportunity to get immersed in the country and its culture, whether that is a Christmas tradition, cooking local dishes or going to events. Spain has so many different cultures within the country.

Was that tasty, Jen?

A new place does not feel like home until you find your new family. Being an auxiliar is an amazing opportunity to meet people and make new friends, no matter if these are other auxiliares, school staff or people who crossed paths with you!

Inlcuding animals, duh!

These are just pictures, we know, but each one has a story behind it. Each day was -and is- a new one, a new opportunity. So put yourself out there and live your own year as an Auxiliar de Conversación in Castilla y León with us!

Do not take our word for it, but Jen’s! She liked it so much that she is renewing in Spain for a second year! Are you ready for your own photogallery? See you in Spain!
